When Crytek and Electronic Arts released the first Crysis in 2007, the open-world shooter was considered a graphical milestone. But the game was not only famous for its impressive looks, but also for its extraordinarily high system requirements – But Can it run Crysis? developed into a popular meme among PC gamers.

The picture shows a view of the Lingshan Islands, where the story of Crysis Remastered takes place. According to the developers, the Can it run Crysis? graphics mode was developed with the aim of pushing current PC hardware to its limits.

In addition to ray tracing reflections, the remaster also offers the following graphic improvements:

Comparison With The Original Crysis

On Reddit, user Filipi_7 shared some pictures of the same scene that he took with different versions of the original form 2007. For his screenshots, he also used the 4K resolution and the highest graphics settings.

The first picture shows the game without mods or console or .ini tweaks, the second picture uses the Mod Crysis Enhanced Edition.

The improved visibility is particularly striking. Although the trees in the front part of the picture do not differ significantly, the village shown has many more details.

While in the original smaller objects such as bushes, sandbags or fences simply disappear at a distance, they can still be made out in the remaster. The mountains and the clouds in the background also look a lot nicer.

Anyone who has feared that the past will repeat itself and that Crysis Remastered might not run on them: The official system requirements are surprisingly low. Most players can easily answer the question; But can it run Crysis Remastered?
